Gotham Sports Radio Fantasy Sports Did you ever wonder what if? What if the 1955 Dodgers had a chance to compete against the M&M Boys and the 1961 Yankees? Would the original Dream Team led by Michael Jordan ever lose to any of the other USA squads since then? Are the 1986 Mets or 1998 Yankees superior? These and other sports “What If” matchups will be settled on the Gotham Sports Radio fantasy section. Throughout the year, we will be scheduling match up’s just like this and reporting back to you the results. Once a year there will even be a “Gotham Baseball Fantasy Cup” where a round robin tournament with past great teams will play out. Just think for the first time Tom Seaver can be pitted against Derek Jeter with the bases loaded. All this will be done using the resources of Strat-O-Matic Baseball http://www.strat-o-matic.com/ and Cactus Development Basketball www.cactusdevelopment.com Check back for updates or Contact Mike Silva with ideas for future replays. |

GAME 2 BOBBY O TAMES YANKS (METS 1-1 SERIES LEVEL) Bobby Ojeda was known to be the “stopper” throughout the 86 championship campaign. Going into tonight the Mets needed that Bobby O to step up and even their series with the Yanks. Ojeda pitched 8 strong innings ( 7 Hits 9 K’s) before being lifted after a Paul O’Neill leadoff single in the 9th. By that time the Mets were ahead comfortable 5-1. Roger McDowell would come in and quickly put an end to the night and even the series one game apiece. |

GAME 3 NAILS & KID PRESERVE METS WIN (METS 2-1 SERIES LEAD)
Scott Brosius thought his single to center was about to give the Yanks a 2-1 lead going into the late innings. Lenny Dykstra knew the Mets could not afford to fall behind with the prospect of Nelson, Stanton, and Rivera in the final three innings. In the end Gary Carter took Dykstra perfect throw, along with a blow in a home plate collision with Paul O’ Neill, and kept the game tied at one. |

GAME 4 SPENCER SOCKS METS TO TIE SERIES (2-2 SERIES TIED)
Shane Spencer was hoping the Mets wouldn’t intentionally walk him with Scott Brosius on second and two outs. Already 2 for 3 with an RBI, Spencer was feeling “in the zone”. “I got a pitch to drive the other way and knew I hit it good”, said Spencer, “for a minute I thought Darryl might catch up to it, but once he turned his back I knew it was gone.” The home run spoiled a Mets comeback from an early 4-0 deficit. In the end it was a 6-4 victory for the Yankees. Jeff Nelson exacted revenge for his poor Game 3 showing earning the victory. |
